Although it’s perfectly safe to swim at the pier, please consider the following tips below before you jump in the water.
Is it OK to swim?
Yes it is
Getting in and out
The a ladder
Getting into the water is easy, you just jump in. But getting out is another story. There is a ladder that we keep on the pier, put this ladder in the water before you jump in. If you don’t set up the ladder, it might be difficult to climb back up.
Sea-life
Don't touch
The pillars holding up the pier have been submerged under water for a long time. Even though we do clean them, at any point life can form on them. Generally speaking, it’s advised never to touch anything underwater, since small life can grow on them and this life can sting if touched.
Water quality
Its fine, however...
The water quality is perfectly fine for swimming. In fact, you will probably find that the water is very clean relatively speaking. However, we are still located right next to a marina. This means that the water quality does get impacted by motor boats sailing in and out of this area.
Depth
Take a floaty
The water right in front of the pier of not too deep, but deep enough that you might not be able to stand. Even if you are tall enough to reach the bottom, you might not want to be standing there, since the bottom of muddier than what you would find on our other beaches around the island.
We advise you to jump in the water with a floaty, this is the best way to relax.
